What is a Fraction?
භාගයක් යනු සම්පූර්ණ දෙයක කොටසක් හෝ කොටස් සමූහයක් නියෝජනය කරන සංඛ්යාවකි. එය කොටස් දෙකකින් සමන්විත වේ:
A fraction is a number that represents a part of a whole or a collection of parts. It consists of two parts:
1. ලවය (Numerator): ඉරට ඉහළින් ඇති සංඛ්යාවයි. මෙය ඔබ සතුව ඇති කොටස් ගණන පෙන්වයි.
2. හරය (Denominator): ඉරට පහළින් ඇති සංඛ්යාවයි. මෙය සම්පූර්ණ දෙය බෙදා ඇති මුළු සමාන කොටස් ගණන පෙන්වයි.
Example: $\frac{1}{8}$
Here, 1 is the numerator and 8 is the denominator.
