Simplifying a fraction means to reduce it to its simplest form. This is where the numerator and denominator have no more common factors (other than 1).

ලවය සහ හරය යන දෙකම බෙදිය හැකි විශාලතම සංඛ්‍යාව (මහා පොදු සාධකය - ම.පො.සා.) සොයා ගන්න. ඉන්පසු, සංඛ්‍යා දෙකම එම ම.පො.සා. යෙන් බෙදන්න.

Find the largest number that can divide into both the numerator and the denominator (the Greatest Common Divisor - GCD). Then, divide both numbers by the GCD.

Example: Simplify $\frac{12}{18}$

The GCD of 12 and 18 is 6.

$12 \div 6 = 2$

$18 \div 6 = 3$

So, $\frac{12}{18} = \frac{2}{3}$
